Poetry Day: October 19, 2 – 5 PM

I was honoured to have several poet friends share work that resonates with the Wabi Sabi theme, ageing bodies, and trees. Mary Corkery, Honor Ford-Smith, , Sheila Stewart, May Ann Kainola, and Real Eguchi were present, while the poems of Maureen Hynes, Marlene Kadar, and Barb Thomas were read by others.

While these poems connected with the images on the walls, I was surprised that I could find very few reflections on trees or ageing bodies in my own poetry book collection, even among the feminist poets, and none that made the connection between bodies and trees.
